In Film: Easy A

Alright, so I know this is one of those cheesy teen romantic comedies, but I absolutely LOVE Emma Stone!  She's hillarious, and the premise of this movie actually looks pretty promising.  It also has a huge cast including Lisa Kudrow, Amanda Bynes and my crush Dan Byrd.  I probably won't be seeing this in theater, but I look forward to the DVD from Netflix.

In Film: The Green Hornet

The trailer for The Green Hornet with Seth Rogan was just released.  Kato looks bad-ass, but I'm not sure if Seth Rogan's bumbling awkwardness is right for the hornet.  What do you think? Will you be seeing it?

In Music: Pink Stops a Fight

While performing "Sober," Pink notices a fight.  She stops everything to make them feel stupid and then continues with the song like nothing ever happened and rocks it out.  And this is why I love this woman!

In Music: Sia - We Are Born Album Review

This is Sia's fifth studio album that was just released today.  Let me start by saying that Sia is probably my favorite artist ever, which is saying a lot coming from me.  The best way I can review this album is to say it's not as great as I wish it was, but not as bad as I thought it would be.  Sia had released a few tracks a few months ago and I was underwhelmed.  The whole album however, is actually fairly good.  I'm surprised by the songs that are becoming my favorites. They're not the huge vocal ballads like "Breathe Me" or "Soon We'll Be Found" but more uptempo 80's reminiscent tracks.  So even though I'm disappointed by some of the songs, there are a few hidden gems and there's no denying the genius that is Sia.  I have a feeling that after listening a few more times, I may grow to love this album.  Listen to "Be Good to Me," my favorite track, below and click "read more" for a full review of each song.

In Film: Four Christmases

I never really had any desire to see this movie.  I heard from a few people that it was surprisingly good, so I DVR'd it and watched it this morning.  Snoozefest.  Vince Vaughn had some funny quips, but it really wasn't as funny as it could have been.  Overall I'm pretty disappointed and will definitely not watch it again by choice.

The Good: Vince Vaughn did have some funny little moments.

The Bad: The Christmases themselves could have been more extreme and played up to be more entertaining.

The Ugly: Predictable.  They turned it into a sappy love story, boy loses girl, realizes he wants her and says all the right things to win her back.  Hope I didn't ruin the ending for you.

In Music: VV Brown - Shark in the Water

VV Brown is a singer, songwriter and producer from England who has become one of the artists to watch for in 2010.  It's just been released that she is opening for Pink's new tour.  VV has one of those throwback voices like Amy Winehouse and Duffy, but her style is eclectic and more indie-pop which she likes to say is "Musical Mashed Potatoes".  This song is her third and highest ranking single.  It's catchy, it's fun and I can't help but get it stuck in my head for days at a time.

Artist: VV Brown
Song: Shark in the Water
Album: Travelling Like the Light
Writer: VV Brown, Tommy Tysper, Marcus Sepehrmanesh
Label: Island Records
