In Music: Janelle Monae - Cold War

All I can say about Janelle Monae is this chick is FABULOUS! I know that sounds super gay, but I don't know how else to describe her.  Her first album rocked my world, the second one is rocking my universe!  This song is my song for the summer! Enjoy it!

In Music: Chromeo - Don't Turn The Lights On

Chromeo's new single, "Don't Turn The Lights On," is out and as usual, the video is strange and entertaining all at the same time.  The song has a very retro feel and is classic Chromeo.  Enjoy!

In Film: Sucker Punch

Robots, Dragons and Ass-kicking girls!  What more could you want from a movie?

In Film: The Twilight Saga - Eclipse

The third installment of the teen vampire drama, Eclipse, (pardon the pun) overshadows the other two movies.  Finally a release of the series that is actually a quality movie.  It's almost like this time they said, "Alright, let's do it for real now."  David Slade, the genius behind "30 Days of Night", adds his stylistic directing style to the film, and the action sequences are pulse quickening and stunningly manuevered.  On top of the great cinematography, the actors all looked great!  Gone are the poofy wigs and overtly gold contacts!  It seems all the actors brought their A-game this time around.  Taylor Lautner brought his abs, Robert Pattinson brought the smoldering and Kristen Stewart actually didn't bite her lip the whole time!

The Good:  It was a much higher quality production than the other two, a movie that can actually be called a good film by someone other than twi-hards.

The Bad:  Some of the scenes were slow and drawn out, but then again, that's how the book was.

The Ugly:  However abtastic, poor little Taylor Lautner just cannot act.  His over annunciation and awkward tone make it sometimes silly to watch him try to be serious.

Synopsis:  I would classify this installment a definite success and I can't wait to see the next two parts in the angsty, blood sucking drama.

In Music: Robyn - Hang With Me

Let me just start off by saying that Robyn can do no wrong.  There, I've said it.  The thing I love most is the fact that most artists will work for years on a new album, hire cowriters, producers and all kinds of music manipulators.  They come out with a few good songs, then disappear and you're left waiting a few more years for something else to come out.  Not Robyn.  This chick is pumping out songs and albums left and right, all while touring.  Not only is she pumping them out like nobody's business, but they're all absolutely amazing!  There isn't one song I don't absolutely love!  This song is no exception.  The video is simple, but I'll tell you what...I would definitely hang with Robyn, that bitch is fabulous!
